Who's ready for Winter Break?

I know the kids sure are! We have had a long, busy (but fun!) semester. The kids really deserve a nice restful two week break. This last week we have done several projects that they are very proud of:

We made stuffed gingerbread with a scent of cinnamon!
(Shea, Dominic, and K'Jeyyana)

We also made glittery snowflake ornaments with each child's picture.
(Micaela, Lanijah, Dezerra, and Jaz'myn)

We also made some cute gift bags to take it all home!
(Stephen and Cesar's bags)

We also filled up our classroom reward chart! So Thursday we had our banana split party! Katelyn looks like she is enjoying it!

I hope you have a wonderful break and will see you back on Tuesday January 5th!

Santa's Surprise

December 10th was the 2nd grade musical Santa's Surprise. The kids spent weeks working very hard in the afternoons to get ready for the play. Thursday, the kids gave 3 performances. Two performances were during the day to all the grade levels and several parents and family members. That night extended family and staff showed up for a fanatstic performance! Their hard work really showed! Nice job 2nd grade!

Thanksgiving Recap!

Even though last week was only three days, we sure did a lot! We read two different Thanksgiving Reader's Theater scripts, painted Turkeys, made Thansgvigin shopping lists, and wrote about our favorite part of our Thanksgiving meal.
We also made dreamcatchers, which were one of the favorite projects of the week by many!

Using Native American symbols, the kids made their own 'buffalo skin' stories.

Here is Shaylen with her skin story.

Here is Byant with his skin story.

Here is Austin with his skin story.

We also enjoyed a huge Thanksgiving Feast! Thank you to all the healthy food donations! A special thanks to Jaquese and Elijah for helping out!

The November book reports were also turned in today to wrap up a wonderful November!
