Waterman's Farm

Last Friday we had our first field trip! We traveled to Waterman's Farm on the southeast side of Indianapolis. The kids had a blast!

We all rode on a hay ride:

They all got to take home their very own pumpkin:

They also had fun riding around the bike track:

They also jumped their hearts out on the bounce house:

They LOVED watching Tyranny eat pumpkins:

They climbed all over the straw bale pile:

They also crawled through a straw bale maze:

Lunch was delicious:

We even got the whole first grade to pose for a picture:

Overall, we had a great time!

Field Trip

Tomorrow 1st grade is going on their first field trip! We will be visiting Waterman's Farm from 9:00 - 1:30. Please make sure your child wears a red shirt (over a long sleeve shirt) or a red sweatshirt or jacket. We would also like for your child to wear older tennis shoes in case they get dirty. Please pack a sack lunch that can be thrown away when they are finished eating.

We will be going on a hayride to a pumpkin patch where the kids will get their own pumpkins! They will also get to see some animals, climb a straw tower, and go through a corn maze! They will also get to meet Tyranny, the pumpkin-eating dinosaur!! I can't wait to post sime pictures from this fun trip!

Apple Week

Two weeks ago we worked on review skills because the first quarter is nearly over! We decided to tie everything into an apple week! We read a lot of books on apples, did apple addition problems, and apple writings. Friday the kids all brought their own apple in! We graphed the different groups of apples.

When we cut the apples, we counted our seeds and found the star! Then we finally got to eat them! We also made our very own apple butter! At the end of the day, after it had cooked for 6 hours, we enjoyed our apple butter and a roll.
